The basic question is about the freedom of sacred spaces for each and every individual. That is to say, the inviolable rights of every individual to live with dignity must ever be respected. For individual rights to be ensured, the entire race of human-hood, nay, creation itself, is likely to have some inviolable principle which would not permit any transgression. Is there such a principle in creation?
The ancients have discovered or were revealed this principle and in Hindu parlance, it is called Dharma. What is Dharma? Dharma has been defined to mean that which sustains the true nature of a thing. Heat, for instance, is the Dharma of fire, the very nature of fire. If there is no heat in fire, then fire would not be fire. Even the minutest of things has its Dharma, called the swa-dharma. Is there something like a dharma for the entire creation? There is, is the indication of the finest minds that have applied itself on this subject. What do they proclaim?
